Boxpod was founded in 2007 by a group of Midlands-based commercial landlords who were fed up with paying local agents 10% of the first year's rent every time they let one of their properties. So they built a platform to list their own properties directly to tenants. Boxpod was born.

The principle is straightforward. If you're willing to vet your own enquiries, run your own viewings and handle the paperwork, you don't need to hand a commercial agent a hefty commission - and the savings can run into thousands of pounds per let.

Today, Boxpod is used by every kind of commercial landlord - private landlords, commercial agents, farmers, councils, self-storage operators and national property management companies to list offices, retail shops, industrial units, storage and land. For tenants and businesses; Boxpod is used to search for and contact landlords directly, with no estate agent in between.

Boxpod sits alongside portals like Rightmove and Zoopla, but operates on a flat monthly or annual subscription rather than per-listing or commission-based pricing. Landlords keep 100% of their rental income or sale value. Tenants pay no application or broker fees.

The company is registered in England and Wales (UK company number 07824123). Around 15,000 commercial properties are currently listed across all UK regions, with thousands of tenant searches every day.
