Demand outstripping availability… Here are the latest views from our own MD Nick about recent activity in the commercial property world

“Requirement for commercial property particularly industrial sites continues to grow with demand often outstripping availability in many areas of the country. Office space  features prominently on our search data particularly for flexible spaces from hot desks to small lock up studios. We are seeing a huge increase in enquiries for all-inclusive packages – properties which include all utilities attract good interest .

“Decisions in some areas on space take up are being put on hold with the uncertainty of the In/Out referendum on Europe.  As  is often the case with economic uncertainty a back log will be created bringing extra activity directly after the big day with many wanting to kick start new projects or simply move up the commercial property space ladder.

“With a real shortage of commercial freehold properties coming to the market and the various flexible options available now is an ideal time to sign a good deal.

“After the recent budget, news of the relief extension on business rates has been welcomed within all areas of commercial property industry. As news of  this feeds through to the market coupled with the date of April 2017 seeing the extension of rate relief to properties with rateable values of up to £15,000 per annum , interest will continue to grow in all sectors giving a positive outlook to both tenants and landlords.
